(UNDATED) – A man who grew up in Sturgis is the newest champion on the game show Jeopardy.
Tyler Griffith won Tuesday’s episode of the long running game show with just $799.
Griffith did lead for a time during the show, and to stay in the race to win, he risked everything he had at the time on two Daily Doubles. During Final Jeopardy, Griffith held a small lead. All three of the contestants gave a wrong answer, but Griffith bet the least amount, and that allowed him to be the champion and return to face off against two new individuals tonight.
Griffith grew up in Sturgis and graduated from Sturgis High School in 2009. He now lives in New Mexico and is a criminal forensic scientist.
