
(INDIANAPOLIS) – Unemployment went up around Northeast Indiana during July.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the recent data shows that LaGrange County increased from 3.8% in June to 4.5% in July.
The largest increase in the area was Elkhart County going from 4.5% in June to 5.8% in July. Noble County went up from 4.6% to 5.6%.
Steuben County saw an increase from 3.7% to 4.3% from June to July. DeKalb County had an increase from 3.8% to 4.7%.
The City of Goshen had an increase from June to July, going from 4.6% to 5.6%. The City of Elkhart went from 5.5% to 6.4%.
The State of Indiana saw their unemployment go from 4.4% to an even 5%. The seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate went from 3.8% to 4%.
