LANSING – A Cass County man is $1 million richer.
55 year old Tori Simpson of Marcellus matched the five white balls in the March 16 Powerball Prize. His winning numbers of 12, 23, 44, 57 and 61 gave him the $1 million. He bought is winning ticket online.
Simpson says he logged in the Michigan Lottery app before heading to work the morning after the drawing. He says he may not have won the jackpot, but he was shocked when he got online and saw the $1 million prize pending.
Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli says Simpsons’ prize is one of two $1 million prizes won during the recent Powerball jackpot run.
Simpson says winning this prize means living comfortably and having a nice financial cushion for himself and his family. After claiming his prize, Simpson says he plans to build a new home and save for retirement.
