WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Swick Broadcasting would like to make a correction and an update to a story we previously aired.
We originally reported on a two vehicle crash that happened in Elkhart County’s Washington Township. We reported that 28 year old Aaron Hilliker of Elkhart was driving his motorcycle and disregarded a traffic signal at the intersection of County Road 17 and County Road 10, colliding head on with an SUV, driven by 56 year old Jody McDonough of Bristol.
Hilliker was taken to Elkhart Memorial Hospital with head trauma and later died from his injuries.
Swick Broadcasting has been informed by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office that it was McDonough’s vehicle which was heading east on County Road 10 and turning north onto County Road 17. Deputies say McDonough’s vehicle is the one that disregarded the traffic signal, and collided head on with Hilliker’s motorcycle, which was heading west.
We apologize for this incorrect information.
The crash is still under investigation.
