(DEKALB COUNTY) – DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Long has been recognized for saving the life of a child.
The Sheriff’s Office gave Long the Lifesaving Award for his actions on February 26.
On that day, Sara Flowers and her 3 month old child Jaxson were driving on I-69 when Jaxson suddenly started to turn blue. His mother called 911, and Long arrived a few minutes later and administered life-saving measures. In a short time, Jaxson went from not breathing to crying, a sign he was going to be fine.
During the presentation of the award, Flowers, Jaxson’s family and fellow officers from the Sheriff’s Office were present to help honor Long.
