(CENTREVILLE) – U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg shared about the work that DOGE is doing.
Walberg, who represents Michigan’s 5th Congressional District in Washington D.C., was at Glen Oaks Community College Thursday for a Legislative Breakfast, put on by the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce.
One of the questions asked of Walberg is how he thought the Department Of Government Efficiency or DOGE is doing in their task to cut federal spending. Walberg says they are a dedicate group of individuals focused on doing their job. LINKC.
DOGE will only be together for a short time. Walberg says that is another reason they are working so hard.
There have been many reports of government employees being let go following DOGE recommendations, including the IRS. Walberg says his District offices get several calls about the IRS and have had problems getting answers in the past.
This year, despite the cuts, Walberg says he has heard many compliments regarding how the IRS is now operating. LINKD.
Walberg says we feel for the individuals who have lost their jobs, but the Government is starting to find out they can do better with less employees, and those who are still employed are paying more attention to detail.
