(INDIANAPOLIS) – Unemployment went up around Northeast Indiana in January.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says LaGrange County saw an increase in their unemployment from 3.4% in December to 3.7% in January.
The largest increase was in Noble County, from 3.9% to 4.4%.
Steuben County went from 3.9% to 4.3%. DeKalb County saw an increase from 3.7% to 4% and Elkhart County jumped from 4.4% to 4.7%.
Cities around Northeast Indiana also had increases in their unemployment. Goshen went from 4.5% in December to 5.1% in January. Elkhart went from 5.1% to 5.5% and Fort Wayne increased from 4% to 4.4%.
