(COLDWATER) – Charges have been filed against a former Coldwater resident for multiple alleged incidents that happened dating back to 2008.
Branch County District Court officials say 54 year old David Michael Miller of LaGrange, Indiana, who is also known as Michael Robert Rottenstein, was arraigned on three counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct, along with three counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct. Miller is also charged with two counts of gross indecency between males and a charge of accosting children for immoral purposes.
During a Michigan State Police investigation, troopers talked to the two alleged victims, who were 11 or 12 years old at the time the alleged incidents started in 2008.
They told investigators about several alleged coerced sexual acts done by Miller in both Ohio and Indiana over a span of a few years. A warrant for Miller’s arrest was issued on July 10.
Miller plead not guilty during his arraignment. Bond was set at $500,000 and if Miller is able to make bond, he is ordered to not have any contact with the two alleged victims.
District Court officials say a probable cause hearing has been scheduled for August 6, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for August 12.
