FREMONT - Fremont Community Schools sent out a text alert to parents stating the schools were on a lockdown at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Friday, December 1.
The lockdown was noted to be in regards to the whereabouts of noncompliant registered sex offender Aaron Matthew Harp.
An 'all clear' text was sent out to parents at around 10:40 a.m.
Harp is a 43-year-old registered sex offender who failed to appear for a recent court hearing on charges of failure to register as a sex or violent offender and failure to register as a sex or violent offender with a previous conviction.
An arrest warrant was initially issued for Harp by the Steuben County Sheriff's Department on Monday, November 20.
Harp is reported to have absconded and is described as non-compliant.
Details regarding the possible arrest of Harp have not yet been provided by the Steuben County Sheriff's Department.
