GARRETT – A juvenile boy was shot on Friday, September 15 in Garrett.
Detectives from the Indiana State Police were called early this afternoon to investigate a reported gunshot injury at a residence in the 200 block of West Keyser Street.
Just before 3 p.m. officers found a 15-year-old juvenile male suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the leg.
ISP confirmed there is no threat to the public.
“There is limited information available at this time, however, detectives believe that this was an isolated incident inside the home, and there is no existing threat to the community at large,” ISP said in the release.
The boy was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The incident remains under investigation.
More information will be released once provided by the ISP.
