ANGOLA – Former Trine University student Michael Myers was sentenced to 8 years with 4 suspended yesterday at the Steuben County Circuit Court.
Myers was arrested in April of 2022 with charges of child molesting fondling, a Level 4 felony.
Myers, then 19, fondled a 13-year-old girl while tutoring her at the library.
According to court records Myers had tutored the girl at the library 9 or 10 different instances.
Myers told police that he was touching the girl inappropriately and she tried to remove herself from the situation when Myers pressed her against a wall.
The victim told reported the incident to her father who contacted authorities. The crime was caught on camera at the library and was promptly turned into the police.
