(THREE RIVERS) – Ron Moag has stepped down as Superintendent of Three Rivers Community Schools.
During Monday's meeting the Three Rivers Board of Education accepted Moag's resignation by a 6-0 vote. Board President Erin Nowak announced to the Board that Moag handed in his letter of resignation on October 4. His last day with Three Rivers Schools will be October 22, as Moag is leaving to take a job in the Seattle, Washington area.
Moag had originally told the Board he would be resigning at the end of the current school year, but that got moved up with this job opportunity.
During that same meeting, the Board of Education voted 5-1 to appoint Three Rivers Curriculum Director Nikki Nash as the Interim Superintendent for the remainder of this school year. She officially took over those duties on Tuesday. A letter to the public was posted on the School District's web page.
The letter says Nash's years of experience and dedication to Three Rivers Community Schools make her the ideal candidate for this interim role. The letter says the board is confident Nash will continue to move Three Rivers Schools forward in the right direction, and they are excited to see what her leadership brings.
Nash told the Board Monday that she will not be seeking the permanent position, but will keep things going for the District while they search for a Superintendent.
Moag became the Three Rivers Superintendent in 2018, following the resignation of Jean Logan and the search for her replacement.
