AUBURN, IN — A train derailed Wednesday morning in DeKalb County just outside of Auburn.
Authorities say a CSX train derailed in the area of County Road 25 and County Road 46A. In a statement issued by CSX the incident happened at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Reports indicate the train derailed a number of cars carrying intermodal containers. No injuries were reported to the crew operating the train.
Preliminary reports say there are not any spills from the containers involved in the wreckage.
CSX is working with DeKalb County first responders to further assess the situation and develop a recovery plan.
DeKalb County Officials say nearby County Road 31 and County Road 29 are blocked.
