One Death And Five COVID-19 Cases Reported In S. Michigan

One death and five new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Southern Michigan Wednesday afternoon.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says there has
been another death in St. Joseph County due to the coronavirus. There have been 3 deaths in the county from the virus. There were also 3 new cases reported, which means 132 people have tested positive for coronavirus.

Branch County has no new cases of COVID-19, remaining at 124 people who
have the virus and 2 people who have died. In Hillsdale County, 1 new case of coronavirus has been detected. That makes 171 people who have tested positive and 24 people who have died.

No new cases of coronavirus have been reported at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. There are 793 inmates and 34 staff members with the virus. There have been 23 inmate deaths at the facility.

Cass County also has 1 new case of COVID-19, according to the Michigan
Department of Health and Human Services. There are 84 people who have the virus and 3 people who have died.

Around Michigan, 304 new coronavirus cases were detected, making 58,035
people who have the virus. There were 17 more deaths. To date 5,570 Michigan residents have died from COVID-19.
