Angola's Daniel Koch- 2026's Steuben Co Lilly Endowment Community Scholar

(ANGOLA) - A Steuben County student is getting a full ride to college through one of Indiana's most prestigious scholarships. The Steuben County Community Foundation has announced Daniel Koch of Angola High School as the county's 2026 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar. Koch was selected for his academic achievement, leadership, character, and strong commitment to community service. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship covers full tuition, required fees, and up to $900 a year for books and equipment for four years at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university. Foundation leaders say Koch stood out in a highly competitive selection process that included essays, presentations, and interviews. In addition to financial support, Koch will join the Lilly Scholars Network, which connects recipients with leadership and service opportunities across the state. Since the program began in the late 1990s, the Lilly Endowment has awarded more than $500 million in scholarships to over 5,400 Indiana students, helping raise educational attainment and strengthen communities statewide.
