KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLKI)- A Coldwater woman faces multiple charges following an alleged road rage incident Sunday in Kinderhook Township.

Misty Dawn Doenges, 39, was arraigned Monday in Branch County 3A District Court on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, reckless driving and two counts of felonious assault.

According to criminal complaints, the incident began on Southern Road near South Angola Road. Investigators allege Doenges got out of her minivan to confront occupants of another vehicle.

Witnesses told authorities that Doenges opened the hatch of her vehicle, removed a 9-millimeter Taurus handgun from a red bag and pointed it at them. The occupants of the other vehicle left the area and contacted the Branch County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies used license plate information and photographs provided by witnesses to identify Doenges, according to the criminal complaints.

Authorities later executed a search warrant at her Coldwater home and recovered the firearm. Doenges acknowledged owning the handgun but denied pointing it at anyone, according to court records.

District Judge Brent R. Weigle set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and ordered Doenges not to possess firearms while the case is pending.

Doenges posted bond Tuesday. A probable-cause conference is scheduled for Oct. 13, followed by a preliminary examination on Oct. 20.

The charges are allegations, and Doenges is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
