BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WLKI) - A Bloomington man has been arrested following a child molestation investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police Investigations Unit.
Indiana State Police say 30-year-old Brayton J. Arthur was arrested August 8 without incident and taken to the Monroe County Jail.
Arthur faces preliminary charges of child molestation as a Level 1 felony, child molestation as a Level 4 felony and child molestation as a Class B felony.
The Class B felony charge relates to an allegation from before July 2016, when Indiana transitioned from letter-based felony classifications to the current numerical felony system.
Bloomington District Detective Kent Rohlfing began the investigation in July after reviewing victim interviews conducted at a child advocacy center.
State police say the investigation determined the alleged victims were younger than 18 at the time of the reported incidents. Rohlfing submitted a probable cause affidavit in Monroe County, and an arrest warrant was issued.
A family case manager with the Indiana Department of Child Services assisted with the investigation.
Indiana State Police are asking anyone with information about possible additional victims to contact the Bloomington District Investigations Unit and leave contact information for Detective Rohlfing.
The charges are preliminary, and Arthur is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
