ANGOLA, Ind. (WLKI) - Angola Main Street is asking residents and visitors to nominate downtown Angola for Hallmark's America's Merriest Christmas Town contest.
Organizers are encouraging people to share stories about the traditions that make Christmas in Angola special, including the lights around the historic courthouse, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, the Christmas Parade, visits with Santa and family traditions.
People may also submit memories of attending holiday events, shopping downtown, volunteering during the season or experiencing the community's Christmas atmosphere.
Angola Main Street hopes local nominations will help showcase the city's holiday traditions on a national stage.
Nominations may be submitted through Hallmark's Merriest Christmas Towns contest website.
