(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Hoosier Lottery has stopped sales of its new Space Invaders Cash Invasion scratch-off game after discovering a printing error that may have caused some players to believe they won larger prizes than lottery records showed.

Lottery officials said the issue involved tickets that appeared to display one prize amount while the lottery's official validation system recorded a different prize.

The $5 Space Invaders Cash Invasion game launched June 2.

The problem came to light after players reported tickets that appeared to show major prizes but scanned for much smaller amounts. One player told Indianapolis television station WXIN that a ticket he believed showed a $100,000 prize scanned as a $20 winner.

The Hoosier Lottery said it is reviewing its rules and procedures to determine how the situation will be handled.

Sales of the Space Invaders Cash Invasion scratch-off game have been halted. The companion Space Invaders Fast Play game and related second-chance promotion remain available.

The lottery has posted information for players who wish to file a complaint. Protest forms and purchased tickets must be submitted by Nov. 30, 2026.
