(ANGOLA) - Trine University students have developed a custom prosthetic designed to improve daily life for a local double amputee.
Four biomedical engineering students created a waterproof prosthetic for paramedic Ben Masten as part of their senior design project.
Masten says he brought the idea to the students after struggling to safely move around in the shower.
The team worked directly with him throughout the process to design a device that is both functional and comfortable.
Students say the project stood out because it allowed them to see the real-world impact of their work.
Masten says he was impressed by the students' professionalism and the final result, which now allows him to shower more comfortably.
