(ANGOLA) - A major new athletic facility at Trine University is nearing completion.
University officials say the school has successfully inflated its new indoor dome, known as the "Thunderdome," with an opening expected in the coming weeks, according to WANE-TV.
The nearly $8 million facility spans about 92,000 square feet and is designed to provide a year-round, climate-controlled practice space.
Officials say the dome will be used by multiple programs, including baseball, softball, soccer, and lacrosse, and will feature turf and scoreboards.
University leaders say the goal is to enhance the student-athlete experience and support year-round training regardless of weather conditions.
The facility is also expected to host training camps for Fort Wayne FC.
