(NOBLE COUNTY) - Central Noble Community Schools has placed one of its employees on administrative leave following a weekend incident now under investigation by Ligonier Police.
The district says it was notified of a situation involving the employee and the Ligonier Police Department over the weekend.
School officials say the employee will remain on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
Because the case remains active, district leaders say they are limited in what information they can release.
In a letter to families, Superintendent Barry Younghans said the district is taking the matter seriously and emphasized that student safety remains the top priority.
The district says it is cooperating with law enforcement and plans to continue providing what it calls a safe learning environment for students and staff while the investigation moves forward.
