(ANGOLA) - Students from the AMP Lab at Electric Works in Fort Wayne captured the top three prizes in Trine University's annual high school Storm Tank competition.

The entrepreneurship competition, held February 25, drew about 50 business ideas from six area high schools, with the top 20 advancing to the finals to pitch before a panel of judges.

The first-place $1,250 prize went to Isaiah Clark for BotMall, a browser-based game platform that uses AI to generate content while focusing on in-person interaction for families, teens and social groups.

The second-place $1,000 award went to Ronan Wilkins for Monarch Bat Company, which is developing a hybrid wood baseball bat using two different wood types to reduce vibration and improve durability and power.

In third place, Baylie Folster earned $750 for Baker's Heaven, a business centered on gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, nut-free and vegan baked goods.

Cash awards for the Storm Tank competition were funded through a gift from Farmers State Bank.

Trine says finalists in the college and community division will make their presentations March 25.
