(UNION CITY) - A fast response by firefighters is being credited with saving a home after a fire Sunday morning in Union City.
Crews were dispatched to a residence on St. Joseph Street around 8:30 a.m., where they found heavy smoke coming from the home upon arrival.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, limiting damage to the room of origin.
Union City received mutual aid from Burlington and Athens Townships.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Neighbors reported hearing a possible explosion shortly before the fire.
