(ANGOLA) - An Auburn man is facing multiple felony charges, including Level 1 rape, following an incident in Steuben County.
According to The Herald Republican, 30-year-old Fred Holst was arrested Monday at the Steuben County Judicial Center. He is charged with Level 1 and Level 3 rape, along with intimidation, domestic battery, and resisting law enforcement.
Court documents say Angola Police responded to a 911 call in December at a home on Regency Court. The call, which was recorded, captured the victim pleading for the suspect to stop.
Investigators say the victim reported being physically assaulted after refusing sex. Officers documented injuries including bruises and bite marks.
Police say Holst initially refused to cooperate when they arrived and had to be taken into custody.
If convicted, he could face decades in prison.
