(BERNE) - A 9-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital Sunday morning following a horse-and-buggy accident in Adams County.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office says deputies received a 911 call around 8:10 a.m. about an injured child at a home on East 900 South near Berne.
Emergency crews responded and treated the boy at the scene before determining his injuries required emergency transport.
The child was flown by Samaritan Helicopter to a nearby hospital for additional treatment.
Authorities have not released further details about how the accident occurred.
