(ANGOLA) - Trine University's esports director Jeremy Goossens has received honorable mention from a national collegiate esports league for his program's performance during the fall 2025 season.

The recognition came from ECAC Esports as part of its Coach of the Season and Director of the Season honors, the university announced.

Trine's varsity Overwatch team finished fourth nationally in ECAC's Titans division, the league's top competitive tier. Overall, 20 of the university's 26 esports teams qualified for national playoffs during the fall semester.

Additional highlights included a second-place finish for the Valorant junior varsity team in its division and a top-three finish for Overwatch JV.

ECAC Esports features teams from across North America and runs two competitive seasons each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Each season includes a seven-week regular season -- typically structured as round-robin or Swiss-style competition depending on the game -- followed by a three- to four-week playoff period.

Goossens oversees Trine's growing varsity esports program, which fields teams in multiple competitive titles.
