(BRYAN) - Parkview Health modified operations at several hospitals and clinics Monday as winter weather created hazardous travel conditions across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Parkview officials said many scheduled appointments were either shifted to virtual visits or canceled "to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and coworkers."

At Parkview Bryan Hospital in Bryan, located in Williams County, Ohio, multiple services were suspended Monday morning. Those included scheduled surgeries and outpatient appointments at offices located on the hospital campus.

In northeast Indiana, Parkview reported changes at several facilities serving Steuben, DeKalb, and LaGrange counties.

Cardiology offices in Angola and LaGrange transitioned scheduled appointments to virtual visits, and the Adams County Park Center, which serves patients across the region, also moved appointments online. The pediatrics walk-in clinic in Huntington, frequently used by families from DeKalb and LaGrange counties, was scheduled to close at 5 p.m. Monday.

Some Parkview locations began reopening around midday as conditions improved. Patients are encouraged to check directly with their provider or visit Parkview Health's website for the most up-to-date information on closures and appointment changes.

Health officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, allow extra time when heading to appointments, and confirm clinic availability before leaving home.
