
LIGONIER, IN - The girls and boys NECC Basketball Tournament came to a close Saturday night with big wins for Garrett and Central Noble.
The Garrett Lady Railroaders won their first NECC Tournament title since 2004 with a 70-42 win over Angola.
Bailey Pelham had 21 points, followed by Morgan Ostrowski with 16 and Nataley Armstrong with 15.
In the boys finals, for the first time in school history, the Central Noble Cougars completed a 3-Peat as NECC basketball Tournament champions with a 62-44 win over the previously unbeaten Eastside Blazers.
Central Noble’s Connor Essegian led with 39 points (5 shy of tying his career and school single-game record).
The Cougars 3-peat has only happened 4 other times in NECC boys basketball tournament history.
