FORT WAYNE, IN - More fans will be able to enjoy a summer's day at Parkview Field.
Starting this week, capacity at TinCaps games will be raised -- from the current 30 percent to 40 percent. On June 29, capacity will increase again, to the 60-70 percent range.
Effective immediately, the masking requirement becomes a recommendation in "any open-air spaces" at the ballpark.
The Fort Wayne franchise announced the move this week based on guidance from the CDC and Major League Baseball, which has had a key role in how minor league teams have managed attendance.
Fans who have not yet been fully vaccinated will still be required to wear a mask in indoor areas, including the Suite Level Lounge and the Orchard Team Store.
Parkview Field's capacity is expected to increase incrementally as the TinCaps' season continues through September.
