
(ANGOLA) – Angola residents may be paying more in the future for curbside municipal waste service.
Monday night, the Angola Common Council discussed the matter during their regular meeting. Angola City Clerk-Treasurer Ryan Herbert gave an update to the Council on the agreement between the City and Republic Services LP. LINKC.
Presently, the cost per unit is $17.09. Herbert says the City has charged $17.10 to help cover the in office costs and reimburse themselves.
The cost per unit will be going up to $17.70 starting July 1. The Council proposed the City charge be $17.75 to help cover costs. It was approved by a unanimous vote.
Angola Mayor David Martin reminded the Council that this proposal will come back to them in an ordinance form for three readings. During that time the Council could change their mind on the amount before it is officially approved and put into practice on July 1.
