ANGOLA – Angola Fire Chief Doug Call announced during the Common Council meeting on Monday, June 6 the passing of beloved and retired Angola Firefighter, Dan Cope.
Danny L. Cope, 81, of Angola passed away on Sunday, June 4 at his home.
Cope was volunteer for the Angola Fire Department for 23 years.
The Angola Fire Department said in a Facebook post Cope joined the department in 1969 and he served the city of Angola and the surrounding area.
Cope was also a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam Was and received a Purple Heart.
Services for Cope will be on Thursday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Weicht Funeral Home in Angola.
Cope will be buried with military honors by the Angola American Legion and the United States Army Honor Guard.
Memorials for Cope can be made to the Angola Fire Department.
