(INDIANA) - Communities across northeast Indiana are getting a major boost for local road projects, thanks to the latest round of INDOT's Community Crossings Matching Grants. Governor Mike Braun announced $100 million statewide, with big wins in Steuben, DeKalb, LaGrange and Noble Counties:

· Angola - $234,174

· Clear Lake - $1 million

· LaGrange - $952,800

· LaGrange County - $1 million

· Topeka - $1 million

· Albion - $807,106

· Kendallville - $451,288

· DeKalb County - $1 million

· Garrett - $753,436

· Ashley - $1 million

· Butler - $540,000

The grants help communities repave roads, fix bridges, and prepare for future growth. The program has delivered more than $2 billion for local projects since 2016. Lawmakers representing the region praised the funding, saying strong infrastructure is key to safety, job growth, and quality of life--especially in rural counties that rely heavily on state matching dollars. The Community Crossings program is capped at $100 million per year, with up to $1 million allowed per local unit. Smaller towns benefit from reduced matching requirements.
