(COLDWATER) - A person familiar with the position has been named the new Coldwater Director of Public Safety.

On Monday the City of Coldwater announced they were appointing Deputy Police Chief Patrick Beeman as their new Director of Public Safety.

Beeman brings over 30 years of dedicated service with the Coldwater Police Department to his new role. Throughout his career, he has served in patrol, investigative, supervisory, and command positions, including patrol officer, sergeant, detective sergeant, lieutenant, and Deputy Chief of Police. His experience also includes tactical operations, crash reconstruction, evidence management, forensic photography, and department training.

As Accreditation Manager, Beeman led the development of a comprehensive policy manual in support of the Department's accreditation efforts and has continued to guide policy development and professional standards. He has also contributed to countywide work involving child advocacy and child-abuse investigation protocols.

As Director of Public Safety, Beeman will oversee the City of Coldwater's public safety departments and continue to lead them in a positive, professional, and community-focused direction. His appointment reflects the City's confidence in his leadership, experience, and commitment to maintaining a safe and well-served community.

Beeman takes over for Joseph Scheid, who died unexpectedly August 3.

The City of Coldwater congratulates Director Beeman on his appointment and looks forward to his continued service to residents, visitors, and public safety personnel.
