(NOBLE & ELKHART COUNTIES) - State animal health officials are confirming two new cases of bird flu in northern Indiana--both at commercial duck farms.

The latest detection comes from a Noble County operation where nearly 5,700 ducks have been impacted. The farm is now under quarantine, with a 10-kilometer control zone in parts of Elkhart, LaGrange, and Noble Counties. A wider 20-kilometer surveillance area is also in effect across portions of Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaGrange, and Noble Counties. A second case was confirmed at a commercial duck farm in Elkhart County, affecting about 5,200 birds. That flock is also quarantined, and the same surrounding counties are included in the control and surveillance zones. State officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely. Residents and producers can track updates through the Indiana Board of Animal Health's online HPAI dashboard.
