(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana officials are encouraging both motorcyclists and drivers to focus on roadway safety as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month begins.

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Ride Safe Indiana launched the awareness effort Wednesday ahead of the busy summer riding season.

According to the state, more than 2,800 motorcycle-involved crashes were reported on Indiana roadways in 2024.

Governor Mike Braun said riders and drivers both play a role in keeping roads safe for all vehicles.

Ride Safe Indiana, the state's official motorcycle safety program, provides motorcycle training courses across Indiana for riders of all experience levels, including beginner, advanced skills, and three-wheel safety classes.
