(ANGOLA) -- Trine University will host a "Take Back The Night" event next week aimed at raising awareness about sexual harassment and assault.
The event is set for Tuesday, April seventh from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the MTI Center.
Organizers say the evening is focused on community support, education and giving survivors a platform to be heard.
The event will begin with an information fair, food and activities, followed by a keynote speaker and a survivor story.
It will wrap up with a "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" march from the MTI Center to the Thunder Drive skybridge and back.
"Take Back The Night" dates back to the 1970s, when marches and rallies were held to protest sexual violence and support victims.
The event is open to the public.
