(COLUMBUS) - Federal agents searched a Columbus residence Wednesday as part of the investigation into the disappearance and death of an Indiana teenager.

The FBI's Evidence Response Team executed a search at the Victorian Village home of Tyler Thomas in connection with the case of 17-year-old Hailey Buzbee of Fishers, Indiana.

Buzbee was reported missing Jan. 6. Her remains were discovered Feb. 1 in Perry County, Indiana, according to investigators.

Authorities seized totes and bags of evidence during the search. Reports indicate investigators also recovered deleted images showing Buzbee with items and furniture believed to be from Thomas' home.

Thomas has not been charged in connection with Buzbee's death. He is currently in federal custody on charges related to child sexual abuse material, which replaced earlier local charges. Officials said he has no prior criminal record.

Police previously questioned Thomas during a January search of the residence. Authorities say he later led investigators to the location of Buzbee's remains.

The investigation remains ongoing.
