(ORLAND) - Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a residential structure fire on the north side of Wall Lake in Orland on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Orland Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 3:44 p.m. to a reported house fire. When firefighters arrived, the home was showing heavy smoke coming from the structure, indicating an active fire.
Mutual aid was requested as crews worked to control the blaze. The Fremont Fire Department responded to assist, sending Ladder 21 with six firefighters and Engine 23 staffed by four firefighters. An additional nine Fremont firefighters remained on standby at their station to maintain coverage for their community.
Fire officials said Fremont crews operated on scene for approximately two hours before being released by command.
Additional assistance at the scene came from Mongo Fire Department, Stroh Fire Department, LaGrange County Sheriff's Office, Parkview EMS, and Steuben County Sheriff's Office Dispatch.
No injuries were reported in the information released by the departments. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not been announced.
