(BUTLER) - Water service has been restored in the city of Butler after a major pipe failure left residents and businesses without water for nearly a full day.
The outage began just before noon Thursday when an 8-inch water pipe failed, draining the city's water tower and cutting off service across the community.
Crews began repair work around 2 a.m. Friday, working through freezing conditions to restore service.
Water pressure has since returned to normal. City officials say Butler remains under a boil water advisory until further notice.
