Weigle seeks 4th Term as Branch County District Court Judge

(COLDWATER) - Branch County District Court Judge Brent Weigle has announced plans to seek reelection, according to reporting from The Coldwater Daily Reporter. If elected, this would be Weigle's fourth term.

Weigle was first elected in 2008 and began his term on Jan. 1, 2009. He was reelected in 2014 and has served continuously since then. A Coldwater resident, Weigle has spent decades working in the local legal system.

He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and a law degree from the Thomas Cooley School of Law in Lansing. His legal career began in 1986 as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Branch County, later serving as chief assistant prosecutor. He entered private practice in 1990 with the Coldwater firm of Stevens and Hayes.
