In high school football action Friday night, Eastside dominated Central Noble to claim its third consecutive outright NECC Small championship. The Blazers shut out the Cougars, 42-0.
Fairfield weakened Lakeland with its rushing attack and won its second straight NECC Big title, beat the Lakers 28-7.
As for the Steuben County game of the week, aired on WLKI, the Prairie Heights Panthers beat the Fremont Eagles for Steuben County bragging rights. The David E Ballinger/WLKI player of the game for Friday, October 8th was Jayden Daniels, who scored three touchdowns during the Prairie Heights 34-12 victory over Fremont.
