One of the top ranking Republicans in the Indiana Statehouse was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a motorcycle accident in northern Michigan.
Tim Brown, Chairman of House Ways and Means, was on a trip with fellow GOP state Representative Mike Speedy near the Mackinac bridge when an SUV pulled out in front of him.
Speedy was reportedly uninjured, but Brown was thrown from his motorcycle in the crash. Speedy reported that Brown was in a medically induced coma and that he would be treated at an unnamed hospital in Ann Arbor.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle encouraged Hoosiers to pray for Brown, who has represented House District 41, located between Lafayette and Indianapolis, since 1994.
