Severe thunderstorms are possible today, along with gusty winds.
The U.S. National Weather Service says there is a potential of severe weather across the entire listening area today.
Forecasters say morning showers will dissipate and move off to the east, but additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to rapidly develop and overspread the region from late morning into this afternoon.
According to the NWS, the primary potential severe weather hazards today include damaging wind gusts in excess of 45-60 mph, along with the risk of isolated tornadoes. Isolated large hail is also possible but of low confidence.
The greatest risk of severe weather is this afternoon into early this evening.
A wind advisory is in effect for the entire area for this afternoon into early this evening. It will be mild today with highs in the 60's. Stay weather aware today and be prepared to take safety should threatening weather approach.
