STURGIS, MI – The Sturgis Board of Education received an update on how students are signing up for the 2020-2021 school year.
During Monday's Study Session, which was held outside the Sturgis Central Commons building on the South lawn, Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared how the sign up has been going for the upcoming school year, he says approximately 95 percent of the students have been signed up for a learning option for the 2020-2021 school year. Two-thirds of the families have signed their children up for in person learning and one-third have chosen learning at home.
Ebert says there have been families re-registering after the first sign up. He says between 75 and 80 percent of those who have switched are going from at home instruction to in person.
Ebert says families will have until the end of September to decide if they want to stay with the option they have chosen or make a change. Beginning in October, they must stay with whatever option they have picked until the end of the semester.
