Southern Michigan Has 10 New Cases And 1 Death From COVID-19

There were 10 new cases of COVID-19 in Southern Michigan as of Tuesday afternoon and 1 more death.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says there was a
death in Cass County. There have now been 6 deaths in the county from coronavirus.

There were also 5 new cases, which makes 180 people who have been diagnosed with the virus.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says 2 more cases
were reported in St. Joseph County, bringing the total number of people who have COVID-19 to 352. There have also been 5 deaths.

Branch County has 1 new case, which makes 254 people who have tested
positive for coronavirus. There have been 2 deaths. Hillsdale County has 2 new cases, bringing the total number of residents infected to 196, and there have been 25 deaths in the county.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of
coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. That makes 39 staff members and 793 inmates who have tested positive. There have also been 23 inmate deaths.

Statewide, there were 584 new cases, meaning 70,306 people who have
COVID-19. There were also 6 more deaths, which makes 6,081 people who have died.
