
SOUTH BEND, IN - An investigation by the Indiana State Police that began months ago came to a conclusion with a search warrant being served at a South Bend residence.
The Indiana State Police say at around 8 a.m. Monday, July 13the, ISP officers served a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and two handguns (one of the guns had been reported stolen). In addition, several children were reportedly in the residence at the time of the incident.
As a result, Jessie Hanson, 34 of Mishawaka, was arrested for Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Stolen Handgun, Serious Violent Felon in Possession of a Handgun, and Child Endangerment. Also arrested for an active warrant for Resisting Law Enforcement and an active warrant for Driving While Suspended was Gene Gilleand, 38 of Mishawaka. Gilleand and Hanson were taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
This investigation began after receiving citizen complaints of possible drug activity at this residence. The Indiana State Police reminds citizens that they can submit tips of suspected drug activity by calling the Indiana State Police.
