City of Bryan Accepts Bid for Upgrafes
Thursday, June 4, 2020

BRYAN, OH - The Bryan Board of Public Affairs has approved a $1.5 million dollar contract for upgrades to one of its turbines. Officials say the GT No. 2 Westinghouse gas turbine is one of two used by BMU to generate additional energy during times of peak usage, or during emergencies.

Last year, the board hired Mesa Associates and Engineering for engineering, installation consulting services, bidding and construction oversight on the project, at a cost of $85,000. In February the board authorized BMU to advertise for bids. After a delay due to COVID-19, the bids were opened.

Turbine Technology Services, based in Orlando, Florida has won the bid for the job. The project has a completion date of Dec. 15.
