Tuesday, March 31, 2020

On Monday, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development released the various unemployment rates across all of Indiana's 92 counties in the month of February.

With the state's average rate for the month of February coming in of 3.4 percent, all surrounding counties in the area came in or below that number. Steuben came in at 2.4 percent, DeKalb came in at 2.9 percent, and LaGrange at 2.5 percent. The highest rate within the four Northeast Indiana counties came out of Noble, which has an unemployment rate of 3.0 percent.

Overall, Northeast Indiana seems to be in much better shape than other areas within the state, such as Northwest Indiana which all saw counties with unemployment rates higher than the state's average.
