On Wednesday, Steuben County Community Foundation gathered close to 70 representatives from 29 nonprofits serving Steuben County to discuss changes to the grant guidelines that will take effect July 1, 2020. The workshop featured three panelists sharing their experiences to help inspire nonprofits to dream big for SCCF’s new multi-year, collaborative grant cycle called Impact Grants.
Gretchen Miller, vice president for administration/chief of staff at Trine University, spoke about her experiences in innovation and seeking creative ways to find solutions to problems. Connie McCahill, president and CEO of Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, shared her knowledge and tips about working in collaboration with other entities towards a common goal. Jennifer Danic, president and CEO of SCCF, concluded the panel session by highlighting key components of sustainability.
In his welcoming statement to the attendees, SCCF board chair, Randy White, shared, “We’re continually inspired by the work of local nonprofits to improve quality of life in Steuben County. SCCF’s new grant guidelines are intended to help grantees receive the funding they need to make a difference.”
SCCF will continue hosting workshops this spring as part a two-year nonprofit capacity building initiative. The next workshop will be a grants Q&A and networking event held at the SCCF office on March 17, 2020 from 3-4pm. Additional workshop dates and RSVP links are available at steubenfoundation.org/nonprofit-events.
SCCF awarded more than $1.84 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and charitable causes in 2019. Grant guidelines can be downloaded on the SCCF website at steubenfoundation.org/grants.
